We're Starting a New Community Garden on 26th Street! Subscribe Today!!
What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?
A CSA provides farm/community garden shareholders or subscribers with fresh produce throughout a season on a weekly or bi weekly basis. Participants share in the risks and costs of raising the produce in exchange for equal shares of the crops produced. A subscriber’s fee is paid before the season begins to cover production and maintenance costs for the season. Farm/garden work is not required of the subscribers.
How will our new community garden CSA work?
Participants will pay a one-time subscription fee of $35/season to receive a bimonthly supply of produce from the new Ave. B/C community garden through the Spring/Summer 2015 season. These funds will cover organic seeds, well electricity costs, tools and supplies.
When can I expect to begin receiving produce from the garden?
Participants can expect to begin receiving produce in June/July 2015 for the Spring/Summer harvest.
How will I receive my share of produce?
Subscribers will be able to pick up their shares of produce twice per month on a designated day of the week at the new community garden. Each participant will be notified via phone or email about the designated day and time for pickup as harvest season approaches. Please keep in mind that subscribers share in risks and losses of each season. Shares may be scant depending on the circumstances of the growing season.
Where is the new organic community garden located?
The garden is on 26th Street between Ave. B and C.
